WASHINGTON – The United States has also given a brief to the Congress and allies in Europe about the new intelligence about the Russian nuclear capabilities that may be an international threat, says one of the sources that informed Reuters on Wednesday.

Moscow’s moves towards creating a weapons system in space, even if they are not in a position of strength right now, do not perhaps represent a direct danger to the United States, the source indicated.

Republican Chair Raises Alarms

The fact was exposed after Mr. Mike Turner, who is the Republican chair of the US House of Representative intelligence committee, responded by issuing an unusual and enigmatic statement on Wednesday with respect to a “serious national security threat.”

Subsequently, sources said that the warning had to do with Russian satellite capabilities. According to one of the sources, while the problem is significant, it has nothing to do with an active capability and shouldn’t be taken too seriously.

“I am requesting that President Biden declassify all information relating to this threat so that Congress, the Administration, and our allies can openly discuss the actions necessary to respond to this threat,” Turner said in the statement, providing no further information.

New York Times Uncovers Classified Documents

Earlier, the New York Times considered it to have been at a crossroads, wherein it released two classified documents that proceeded to further show that the new intelligence was related to Russia’s development of a space-based anti-satellite nuclear weapon. According to ABC News, the intelligence is about the threatening capability to do that. No one from the present or previous officials believes that this nuclear weapon is in orbit; that being said, it exists.

Given that it was set at a time of intense debate in Congress over how the United States should handle Russia and other global threats, with the security hawks calling for more active engagement and some still allied with Republican President Trump advocating a more isolationist “America First” policy, Turner’s statement is a timely reminder of the need to persevere and persevere on the important issues of our time such as climate change, as reported by Reuters.

After heading a bipartisan congressional delegation to Ukraine, Turner just returned and cautioned his fellow legislators that Ukraine’s time to repel the Russian invasion was running short.

Turner Warns on Ukrainian Crisis

The administration of Biden has been quite forceful against the Republicans of the House for the possibility of them holding up a bill of $95 billion passed by the Senate that gives aid to Ukraine and the technological leaders in the global arena, Taiwan and Israel. Supporters of the resolution claim that the main reason the US stands with the government in Kyiv is to counter Russian suggestions that go beyond the state of Kyiv. The US stands with Ukraine so that threats from Russia can be entirely eliminated.

‘NOT A CAUSE FOR PANIC’

House Speaker Mike Johnson, who is a close friend to President Trump, warned that there is no reason for the public to become alarmed. He also said that there is no need for a speedy vote on the Senate bill. “Calmness is the name of the game. We’re on the way and no reason should alarm now,” he replied.

Committee Chair Mark Warner and Vice Chair Marco Rubio, both Republicans and Democrats, issued a joint statement saying their panel has the document and has been “literally” doing the forensics, as reported by Reuters.

A major source stated that recently, the crime leaders declared war on the United States to both of them a few weeks ago. The Speaker added that this issue was not necessarily connected to the issue of money for defense, but the two problems are unrelated.

Democrat Jim Himes, top of the House intelligence panel, says that panic does not belong to that. He added that the issue in Turner’s statement is significant, “but it is not a cause for panic.”

National Security Experts to Discuss Concerns

Jake Sullivan, who is President Joe Biden’s special assistant to the national security adviser, did not make specifics when asked about it. He reported he arranged an interview for Thursday to discuss national security experts with congressional leaders of the administration and was surprised when Turner made this news release, as reported by Reuters.

“I’m not in a position to say anything further today,” Sullivan told a briefing. “As I said, I look forward to the discussion with (Turner), and obviously, we will determine how to proceed from there, but standing here at the podium today, I can’t share anything further.”
