United States: Former President Trump’s campaign’s pitch to voters is simple: Do you personally feel that your life is all that it could be compared to an earlier time in your past?

However, Trump also took it up himself and posed the same question on Truth Social this week, which, in turn, was snubbed by the Democrats and others who were equally critical.

Comments by Democrats and other critics

Alyssa Farah Griffin, who was the White House communications director for Trump in 2020 but has since broken completely with the ex-president stated, “Again, we were literally hoarding toilet paper on this date 4 years ago,” as the Hills reported.

The latest campaign ad from the Biden team, running on digital media, launched with Trump’s “Are you better off” Truth Social post. It also features images of patients in hospital beds, doctors in protective gear, and people from the US queuing up for grocery shopping.

The ad closes with the word, “Yes!”.

The “Are you better off now” approach is the customary line of attack of candidates running against an incumbent, but it might be less straightforward for Trump, who was in office for the last time as President when the coronavirus pandemic was intensifying.

The polling manifested the fact that voters still trust Trump more than Joe Biden on the issues related to the economy and immigration.

However, the Biden campaign has been tailored to inform people that while four years ago, financial markets were falling, the death toll was rising in the United States, and the people of the US were indoors and had limited in-person interaction.

According to the Hill reports, Biden, at a fundraiser in Dallas, while citing Trump’s social media post, said, “I hope everyone in the country takes a moment to think back to what it was like in March of 2020 — COVID had come to America, and Trump was President” on Wednesday.

He added, “Hospital emergency rooms were overcrowded. First responders were risking their lives. Nurses were wearing garbage bags for protection,” and “Morgues were being set up all outside, not just in the hospital. And loved ones are dying all alone,” as he continued.

Trump supporters have not hesitated to put forward the claim that Americans are not better now after four years compared to when they were before.

They argued that a spurt in immigration to the southern border and persistently high inflation point to the fact that Americans are experiencing difficult times, and there is already talk back to Trump’s policies.
